Spiced Oatmeal Latte

Ingredients
  • ¼ cup old fashioned oats, gluten-free
  • 1 cup water
  • ⅓ c. brown sugar
  • 2 c. +/- whole milk*
  • ½ tsp. cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp. cloves, ground
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • ⅛ tsp. ginger, ground
Instructions
  1. Combine oats and water and allow to soak for 15-30 minutes.
  2. Put into blender and blend at high speed until oatmeal is all but dissolved.
  3. Strain solids from the liquid. You can do this through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth.
  4. In medium saucepan, heat liquid, sugar, and spices over medium heat until thickened and just beginning to boil. Boil for 1 minute.
  5. Turn off heat and add milk.
  6. Serve immediately, with a sprinkle of cinnamon powder.
