Ever just need a little something warm during the winter but you’ve already had your coffee for the day? Yeah, me too. That’s why I put together an instant sugar-free hot cocoa mix to keep at our coffee station in the kitchen. There’s so many options with this hot chocolate!

We have a Ninja coffee station that allows you to run through a single cup of hot water for making tea or … this simple hot chocolate. Three minutes is all it takes to get me settled down in front of a fire with hot cocoa and a good book.

This recipe is so forgiving you can make it with hot water, hot milk or half & half (my personal favorite!). You can add some collagen (for extra protein), some coconut oil (for some healthy saturated fat) or even some extracts (please choose organic).

So.Many.Options.

Notes:

  • The mix makes 2-3 servings. Feel free to double or triple it so you have enough when company visits.
  • I chose to use Lacanto sweetener because it’s sugar-free but you can use cane sugar if you like.
  • I order my organic dried milk online because it’s difficult to find in stores. Choosing organic means that rBGH is not an issue. If you’d like to learn more about this growth hormone banned in all of Europe, go here.
  • When I add coconut oil, I blend it in my Wolf Gourmet High Performance Blender to make it frothy. You can find that blender here if you want one for yourself. A stick blender will work too.
